💜Chronotopia has been released for a week now,

Surprise! I thought I wouldn’t leave you without one last spotlight. As explained previously: in Chronotopia’s framing device, you incarnate a lost soul who visits Kionna’s world (the fairytales world) in the hope of finding memories of their past life. That’s where you, as a player, have to step in!

If you manage to find all 4 memory fragments, you get a bonus scene~

There are 4 memory fragments scattered through Chronotopia’s story. One is hidden in a background, one in an event CG, one is near a sprite, and one is on another layer entirely. Of course, there is a logic behind that: Each memory fragment is tied to an object or an idea that turns out to be important in the soul’s past life. If you find a memory fragment, you unlock its corresponding flashback at the end of the game, when you return to purgatory.

And each flashback will reward you with a special illustration! For these, I was looking for a completely different atmosphere and fell in love with CinnamonDevil’s work. Since she’s mostly a traditional artist, her style here reminds me a lot of the engravings Gustave Doré made to illustrate the 1864 edition of Perrault’s tales. Very literature nerd of me, I know, but I think it’s a perfect fit and I hope you like the result as much as me~

I'm revealing this one in particular because it’s the earliest/easiest to unlock

Depending on how many memory fragments you managed to discover, the lost soul will meet a different fate. Naturally, the goal is to get all 4 to piece their backstory together. I thought this “Where is Waldo?” kind of gameplay would be a fun side activity for people who like to complete absolutely everything. That way you have something to do even on your way to a 2^nd or 3^rd ending!
